Expect to see the same things as you would see at Salt Creek. This site is popular as a boat dive when the weather is too rough to dive the Knot. It is possible to dive here from shore but there is a LONG surface swim associated with this site. Better off diving from a diveyak or boat. There is a boat launch located at Freshwater Bay, but unless you have a boat small enough to pack to the water from the parking lot it is not advised that you launch here. Very primitive launch.
Getting There
Follow highway 112 west for about 4.82 miles to Freshwater Bay Road. Turn right on Freshwater Bay Road. Follow FWB Road to the boat launch and Parking lot. Observatory Point is the point with the tree sticking up from it to the west.
The Dive
After the long swim to the point, you can expect to see all the same critters as you would at salt creek. Swim around the point but be careful of the current and air consumption as you will need air for the swim back
